If this is a big block (like the subject suggests) with a rocker shaft, the rocker to valve geometry does not change with pushrod length.  You're thinking of a small block chevy, etc where the whole rocker moves to adjust preload.

I'm probably over-thinking this part but what are your thoughts on push rod length moving it's cup and ball pivot point further away from the centerline of the rocker shaft?  I'm thinking (wrong maybe) that will decrease the effective lift similar to a 1.5 ratio rocker vs a 1.6 (extreme example).  Agree 100% on the Chevy! I've seen it happen!

It won't change the ratio but might roll off the valve tip as it won't be centered like it should be during the rocker arms travel.    Bottom line.... no don't do it.

Or get custom length pushrods to match what you got!

hay
went on a business trip for a long time had just returned!
and back to old problems    ))))))

I ordered a new spring!
but i am not sure that srings will solve the problem! i did not run my engine more then 2500rpm? and the whole trip was 10 minutes long
lifters stuck at the bottom and its not 1 or 2 ITS 7!!!
3!!! pushrods pop out(they jumped out on top, from the rocker arm)


I hope that this spring - it will explain a problem with pushrods, but all NEW hydraulic roller lifter! and its not 1 broken, its like every  second!

Just an update, my prob was my machinist did set the lash correctly hence a loud valve train.

The one thing that keeps resonating with comp lifter problems is under rated springs. So if you are going to run .600 lift you better get a spring rated higher than that to be on the safe side (I.e. .650)

Keeping my fingers crossed I never see these probs but she is running beautifully now.
