That's why I asked about the shackle position.  There was a weird occurrence on another site where the shackle extended "forward" instead of "back" when the car was lowered to the ground.  The rear sat VERY high.  I don't see how that's possible but I remember it happening.

I would question the gas shocks.
Remove them both and set the car down without them and see if it improves. Even drive around the block without them to settle everything. The gas pressure may be holding it up. Or could the shocks be overall too long and are bottomed out.
I had one go out on an old Mustang I have it went to full extension and would not return.

Only way I could see the factory leafs being too high is if car was up on stands with the rear hanging for a verrrry long time.

I think HP is onto something like the springs got re-arched at some point.

318 springs would never sit like that.

Here is the shackle position.  I put on some old shucks generic shocks today-no difference in height

thats why I was thinking these with 1"drop -or blocks- 2" would look make it sit better.
