Dr. Diff Spring Relocate Kit

I want to create more room for a wider tire so I was wondering if anyone has installed the 1.5" kit from Dr. Diff? How much room will I create by doing this? My plan is to change out my springs to SS springs and get rid of the current rims on my car and go with black stealies. 10" wide on the back and 7" on the front. I'm not into corners more a drag car look. I'm thinking 15 inch rim since the selection of drag radials seem more in the 15 inch size also want a tall tire - 30 inches to keep highway RPMs down (410 gearing). What tires? I know a lot of questions. I would like to get a 12 inch tire back there if possible - I will do the springs and install the kit (E body rear, yes will relocate the mounts on the tube) and then measure for backspacing just wondering if anyone has this set up and what size of tire they run? the relocation definatly helps should be able to get a 295 or 305 in the back . Love the 5 spoke & cannot see the steels looking better at all
 I really like the Nitto 555 , great traction & good tread life

Thanks Chryco - yeah I like the 5 spoke too but have seen a few Cudas with the steels and Hoosier white letter tires and I think it just looks mean ya know? I will keep the 5 spoke so I can change it up once in a while...

I installed the 1" kit from Cass so a B body housing would drop straight in (44") perch centres, I have 295's on a 10" rim, tight but no fender lip rolling and about 3/8" tire to spring, they don't rub but it's tight. 5.5" bs (zero offset)

Dodj - 315s eh? well that's 12.4 inches wide which is great - is that tread width or tire width? I want a tall tire too like 30 inches.

I have the 1.5" kit from Dr Diff w/ a B-body rear end, 285/40-R18 Nitto 555s, on cragar SS 18x10 aluminum wheels. I have all sorts of room left, easily 3/4 inch between leafs and wheel wells, some places closer to an inch. Only reason I went with 285s was I wanted Nitto 555s and they didnt make 295, 305, or 315s in the size I wanted... well at the time, they might now?

Just looked and saw Nitto came out with a 295/40 in their 555 G2 line.... guess I know what tires I'll be getting next go around....

So, what is the minimum sidewall to spring distance everyone feels comfortable with?  What about the sidewall to quarter panel distance?  The springs are going to move side to side a little bit.  With the 1" kit, having a 3/8" gap is probably OK on the inside.  The inside of the wheel well is still going to be inside of the leaf spring face.  The 1.5" kit might put the wheel well and the spring face inline.  At that point I doubt 3/8" is enough.  For some reason, I have 5/8" in my head.

I have 285 60R16 on the back now with no relocate kit. Might have a quarter inch on the drivers side and 3/8 on passenger side from the inside of the tire to leaf. I rub going around a corner if I hit it hard. I saw a set of 295 65 r 15 mt drag radials that looked good were on a 69 charger.

My tires are 35ZR315's. Like 26.5" tall.
