Here is the best I can do without pulling door panel...

Viewing top of door facing forward at mirror... can just make out front channel on left under weatherstrip, about even with outer edge of belt molding.

Mine is screwed to a 'hat section' bracket that is almost touching the inside of the outer door skin... yours looks like a sheet metal screw holding it to top outer skin lip?

Second one is above mirror pointing almost straight down at channel...

Alan

This is what I believe I also have a problem with. Do you have a pic of the front bracket with the correct bend in the portion that bolts to the top of the door?

B

The bracket at the bottom is NOT going to get the glass closer to the door at the belt line....I think the bracket that the top of the front track is bolted to is bent inwards :2cents:

Maybe this will help, in your pic it looks like the front bracket is about the same.

This really makes me scratch my head because your window top goes too far in at the top and mine doesn't go far enough?  :clueless:

Door skins would not do this, unless they made some metal changes to the bottom of the door I'm kinda stumped.

HP_Cuda - The bottom track supports could theoretically be mounted backwards... the vertical part should be toward outside skin with guide mounted toward inside... if reversed, top edge of glass will be away from roof rail (bottom of guides too far inward and can't adjust out far enough)...

Theoretically.....

You must have the top mounting bolts for both tracks out to get the glass/Guides in or out.  . Line up the holes in the glass and put those 2 top bolts in.     I then undu the top of the small bolt on guide to allow access.  And I drilled a hole to get the front screw in to mount the glass.   Easy.     Reproduction glass is poor quality compared to any original.

TURNS OUT THE PIECE OF GLASS IS BAD!!!!!

Got a crazy curve to it. Compared to the multiple factory pieces I have.  Unusable.  Already got a new one ordered. Will be exchanged.     Thanx to all you guys. And especially Alan.   He really got me thinking.  So I went over the other side extensively.   And ended up running a straight edge across the factory glass then across mine and it's severe.  No question.    Frazzled but still alive.  The other piece looks ok.  I'll try that one after a breather,  Collect my wits.

The mounting flange in the door is quite flexible.  I was going to modify the mount to go in more. Maybe use a button head bolt.   But I'll try the new glass first.  R/T

Gad: I'm sick of repro stuff. At least you found it. Hopefully they send it back to China and shove it up, oh never mind.

Here is some pics of the bottom for front and back rails (yes both rail backs face door skin):

See anything else wrong?
