Shaker Base Plate
« on: August 26, 2016 - 07:45:02 AM »
I bought a baseplate it was advertised as a 340 baseplate, I did see that there where no feets beneath it and there was a hole in the embossed area in the front so I guessed this is my 383 baseplate, now after mounting it on the car it sits to low? My guess now it's a 440 baseplate if a measure the neck it's like 2 1/4" isn't 383s  2 3/4"? What a mess, baseplate is an old OEM and repainted years ago so I can't see the stamped number.

I will do, first I have to find out if it's a 440, if I find a nice 383 I will sell it, the 440 is the rarest of them all I have been told. easy fix until then is to use a higher intake like the Edelbrock Performer RPM.
