15" Mopar rallye wheels - 7" or 8" ?
« on: June 10, 2016 - 01:52:13 AM »
Is there a quick and easy way to determine if your 15" rallye wheels are 7" or 8" wide?  Tires are already mounted to the wheels and on the car.  Is the only way to measure what you have is to remove the beauty ring and measure the outside and then the inside width?

I am looking to get new radial tires and I would like to know for the rear if I need to get 245/60s or 255/60s.  If the wheels are 7" then I think the 255s would be too fat looking on the sides.

You can figure it out with a tape measure and straightedge. Just measure through the rallye wheel openings using a straight edge on the wheel rim on the inside and outside.

If you already have the trim rings installed it will be easy to tell.  The trim rings will fit nicely up to the center of the wheel if it's 7" wide.  If you have an 8" wide wheel, there will be a decent sized gap between the trim ring and the wheel center.

I had 255's on rear 235's on the front with 7 inch rallye wheels.255's are consider the max for a 7 inch rim and they fit and look great.

It appears I have 15x7s.

Anyone have pictures of a car with 15x7s with 235/60 front and 255/60 rear?  ...245/60 rear?

Bump on this thread.   I'm also looking for pictures of this.  I want 15x7 rallys on there not and back and trying to determine best tire side.   Thinking 35 in front and 45 in back but would like to see pictures!
