I agree, you did ask about looks. The new car is not even close to being as attractive as the old one. Way to fat in the butt, too high and much too heavy. However I do have to commend the designers for getting it as close as they did given the constraints of new car safety standards. The new Mustangs don't look as good as the old either. I do think the new Camaro's look better than the old ones but they're huge too.

Weight gain comes with age for most. Appears to be true for cars as well :roflsmiley:

LOL, too true! Oh well, I like the new Challenger for what it is, and that's a badass modern muscle car that performs a lot better than its older counterpart and looks better than its competition. That being said, my absolute dream car is a '70 or '71 Challenger resto mod with a fuel injected 512 stroker and overdrive transmission, new suspension parts and brakes, improved interior, etc. But in some ways I do like how the new car is bigger because it has a much bigger trunk and the backseats are actually usable and somewhat comfortable. So I suppose I will get a new one first and build my resto mod over time.

I have and like both. Looks wise the original wins, but the new ones are head turners too. I get a lot of compliments in my 2010. Too big...naaa I can fit 4 dead hookers in the trunk, 3 people in the back seat and still   :burnout:

Considering all the safety, smog, MPG, and other crap the government has mandated on the auto industry in the last 40+ years, I'd say Chrysler did a pretty commendable job in staying close to the original E body concept from the seventies. I would much rather be in a 2016 Chally and get T-boned by a pickup than in a 1971 version! My question is what's coming next as the current Chally is getting a little long in the tooth.

Hopefully they wise up and put the T/A hood on it.

Hopefully they wise up and put the T/A hood on it.

Not from the pics I've seen. It looks like the want to throw some T/A side stripes on a car, and hope the masses go crazy.

I'm not there yet.   :grinno:
