How did these tires fit with rear leafs?

Searching the web through some ebody pictures and came across this car. Was for sale on forebodiesonly a few years back. How did this guy fit that wide of a rear tire and keep the rear leafs? Those tires look huge and doesn't look like fenders were flared...

He just in boarded the springs....been doing it since the 60s....prolly earlier.

Yep, custom rear frame rails and instead of a 4-link, they used leaf springs.

 :iagree:  In the first pic, the leaf spring hangers are right where the exhaust tips would come out of the rear valance.

Springs are moved in 4" per side and a new rear shackle mount was installed (4" inward per side).
I have 19 x 13" rims with plenty of room to spare!
