Sparkplug wire resistance...supposed to be ???
« on: January 22, 2017 - 01:42:30 PM »
Hey guys....checking my resistance on the 440 wires...........I still have issues with past 1/2 throttle sputtering so went that direction............Getting anywhere from 1-2 ohms on all wires , except #3 which haven't checked that one yet cause I didn't want to have to get the jack out and crawl under the car on a damp day....
Steering box, header, etc in the way so other than that one all seem to be equal or so.  Your thoughts.....

The FSM shows between 30,000- 50,000 ohms for  resistance cables depending on the lenth.

If they are all 1 to 2 ohms, I'm thinking you have copper core wires rather than the more common carbon core. If thats what you have, they are all good except possibly the one you have not checked. The copper ones are better (IMO) but usually cause EMI problems

normal carbon / spiral core wires are between 10-20k ohms so depending what scale you are on it may be perfect
