Shaker trim ring stud repair
« on: October 01, 2016 - 07:57:04 PM »
I was wondering if there is anyone who repairs Shaker trim rings, all but two of my attaching studs are broken off. I know that there are aftermarket ones reproduced, but have read that there are fitment issues. Thank you in advance.

Best bet is to epoxy the ring to the hood and epoxy nuts and studs where they were originally. The trim ring is really thin so mechanically attaching new studs is pretty much impossible.

This link provides good details and pictures of the repair.  Pretty sure you will need to be a member to see pictures.

Thanks, luckily I am a Machinist/Welder for the Air Force and should be able to duplicate that repair without to many issues.
