Ken, what's going on with the Beast? Get it all sorted out and dialed in?
Sorry for the delay in responding, I just saw this post...
To answer your question, I did finally get it all sorted out and running great. It has been too hot for much driving so far.. I can tell you this, it has a LOT more torque than the 528 did. I ACCIDENTALLY went through an intersection Saturday sideways...
This engine is pushing 800 ft/lb's torque and 840 HP. I was in line at a rural intersection redlight. I was about the 8th-9th car in line when the light turned green for us to go. There was a Ford truck in front of me and a late model Camaro behind me. Anyway, as I got near the intersection, the light went yellow. The truck in front of me flashed his brakes as if he was going to stop. I hit the brakes and stared slowing down when suddenly the truck decided to go. I was still on the brakes and I looked in my mirror and the Camaro didn't appear to be paying attention. So I decided that I didn't particularly want to get rear-ended by an errant BowTie, I hit the throttle pretty good while in 2nd gear and instant wheelspin. Keep in mind, these are Hoosier 18" slicks at 35 miles per hour. That got my attention in a hurry..
I would normally be in 3rd gear at that time, but I was in 2nd. If I had been in 3rd gear, the converter would have slipped enough to keep the rear tires from breaking loose, but in 2nd, I was above the stall speed and it sent all the throttle I had applied straight to the tires. Lesson learned - don't play with that kind of power... LoL....
