I plan to restore my 70 Dodge Challenger convertible which I have owned for 12 years and which has been driving in Europe since 1980.
My engine builder suggests for the 383 magnum engine a Hughes (3842BL3-10) hydraulic roller cam with 238/242 duration and .540/0.550 valve lift w/1.5 ratio. Engine would be 0.030 over bore with Edelbrock 75 cc aluminium heads and AVS 650 cfm carb. Exhaust and intake manifold are original. I am looking to get a nice cruiser, nice sound and reliability, but also with similar power than a 440cui.
It would help me a lot to hear your expert opinion on his cam choice for this set up.
Thank you.
Thomas
