OEM 2944390 15" x7" rallye wheels value ?
« on: October 07, 2016 - 08:39:28 PM »
I have a set of 15" x 7" Rallye wheels off a 1970 AAR Cuda' in excellent condition (no pitting) and am trying to determine the value since they are not correct for my 1971 Cuda' that I am getting ready to restore. My car should have steel "450" wheels. Does anyone have an realistic value of the price for a full set (4) of matching date coded wheels. I took these wheels off a AAR cuda back in 1990.

Bare in good shape I would guess $1k for a matching, nice date code set. Personal decision but I would much rather have a set of real Mopar 390's on my car that wasn't coded for them than store bought steel wheels that are totally incorrect in appearance. Real 450's have a special appearance that is easy to notice and no one makes a good repro.

:iagree: I have to agree with Sheldon, unless you have the correct steel wheel (painted in the correct black colour) the reproduction steel wheels really stand out as being incorrect in my opinion.
If that's your decision, okay greatr, but I would keep the rally rims for when you get sick of your wheel choice....

Here's what I mean...This is the same car (a very "famous car"  :smilielol:)

Which do you think looks better ? :smokin:
I've taught you everything you know.....but I haven't taught you everything I know !

Thank you both for your opinion, it really does matter to me. My grandfather drove to Miami to pick up the AAR when I was in the stationed in Florida to pick up that car and now he's long gone but the memory remains so correct or not they do have some sentimental value. I'll keep my eye out for a set of "450's" but keep the rallye's till then.

Great idea: Some things are worth more than money.
