Another door glass question!
« on: October 19, 2016 - 10:49:11 PM »
I'm working on getting my 1972 Dodge Challenger door glass replaced and installed. I ordered new side and quarter glass along with the various bits from Roseville Moparts. Two thumbs up to those guys for helping me with my order and quick shipping.

I've attached a picture of what I currently have. On the left is what came out of the car. On the right are the new parts. I can see how some of this goes together. It appears that the speed nut and washer from yesteryear have been eliminated in favor of a new fitting that expands in the hole in the door glass and it is tightened together with the original screw. On the right side of the picture at the bottom there are 2 additional plastic discs, each with a slightly different shape. I seen no place for these when I look at the pictures I took when I disassembled the door.

I'm wondering if these are some parts that maybe work for other years the Challenger was produced and just included in a one size fits all kit?

Thanx!

I'm doing the same thing now.  What I did was make my own gaskets for against the glass and the ground down the plastic piece to match what I had it worked fine.  Good luck.

Those rectangular nuts suck.  All of them loosened up and fell into the door after the car was on the road.  I ended up screwing a generic nut onto the bolt after the rectangular nuts were installed.  The rest of my hardware was OK.  They just needed to be cleaned up and lubed up.

Working on the inner door tracks/mechanisms are the worst part of a restoration.  :2cents:
