New Intake, Car Hesitates
« on: October 27, 2016 - 03:09:17 AM »
I had a Weiand 8007 intake on my mild built 340.  Now I have the Edelbrock Air Gap RPM intake.  My car hesitates for the first second when I floor it.  Any suggestions on how to correct this?  Once the hesitation stops, the car runs great and really moves.  Is this common for the Air Gap intake?  I have carter carb and stock fuel pump.  Didnt hesitate with the Weiand intake.

Thanks!!!

Generally you need more duel with the acclerator pump so you need to install a larger squirter

Agree with CP. Anytime you change your engine combination you will need to retune. Try increasing your accelerator pump shot. You may also find that manifold may like a different timing setting or spark advance curve.
