A/C Line Question
«
on:
November 08, 2016 - 09:23:54 PM »
I am putting together a '72 Challenger for a friend and I have all of the original A/C lines but the aluminum lines are very dirty. What is the best way to make them look good again? Media blast? Steel wool?
Thanks!

Depends on the level of restoration....You can wire wheel them, or media blast and paint the silver and black or you can send them out to be re-plated...

If I media blast, what type of media would you recommend using?
Thanks!

If there is a lot of paint on them, brake fluid

I wire wheeled mine. You can see two of them in this pic. They were in pretty good shape to start with though

Reborn73,
Could you possibly post a pic or two of the two A/C lines that attach to the condenser? I believe I have the correct lines but when I attempt to connect them to the fittings on the compressor they do not seem to fit as easy as they should.
Thanks!
