A/C Line Question
« on: November 08, 2016 - 09:23:54 PM »
I am putting together a '72 Challenger for a friend and I have all of the original A/C lines but the aluminum lines are very dirty. What is the best way to make them look good again? Media blast? Steel wool?  :dunno:

Thanks!

Jeff

Depends on the level of restoration....You can wire wheel them, or media blast and paint the silver and black or you can send them out to be re-plated...
I've taught you everything you know.....but I haven't taught you everything I know !

If I media blast, what type of media would you recommend using?

Thanks!

If there is a lot of paint on them, brake fluid

I wire wheeled mine.  You can see two of them in this pic.  They were in pretty good shape to start with though

Reborn73,
Could you possibly post a pic or two of the two A/C lines that attach to the condenser? I believe I have the correct lines but when I attempt to connect them to the fittings on the compressor they do not seem to fit as easy as they should.

   Thanks!
