I saw your post over on that other site, and while I'll admit the pads I've seen were older the other thing to keep in mind is the climate where Dayclona is from... Just pulled this up on a google search...

In the capital city of Boston, the hottest month of the year is July, with an average high temperature of 82 °F (27 °C) and an average low temperature of 66 °F (18 °C). The coldest month of the year is January, with an average high temperature of 36 °F (2 °C), and an average low temperature of 22 °F (-5 °C).

The all time record high was 107 in 1975.....   Not quite the same as what you are dealing with...
