Thanks, Mopar should have done it from the beginning, those lights were/are always the first thing to get broken plus it looks so much better set in.

Any worry about moisture collecting back in there?  Did you drill any drain holes?

Not really, however I suppose you could. In my case it is a pretty tight fit and the car will be garaged all the time. That said, it would be possible to put some.

I'm using '68 sidemarkers on my Duster. The front fenders are '71's, but the rear quarters are '74 so I have to do the same thing. The hole in the fender/quarter is a little too big, so some welding is still required, but all you need to do is weld in a small patch to make the opening small enough for the '68 bezel to cover it. They do stick out still, they aren't flush, but they weren't flush on the '68 cars either. And with the bezel it doesn't look strange like the 72+ sidemarkers that look stuck on.

I want to do the same to my 74 the rears are steel but my front fenders are fiberglass. How hard would it be to do this to fiberglass?

What the '68 markers? Easy for fiberglass, you just need some fiberglass cloth and resin. Patch the original hole for the 72+ style markers and drill the correct sized hole for the '68 markers. Not sure if your fenders are painted already or not. If they're not you could put the '68 markers wherever you wanted. If they are, well, even putting the '68 markers where the 72 markers are now would require some touch up work around the marker.
