71 Challenger Vert
« on: December 13, 2014 - 07:42:09 PM »
Working on my fathers 71 vert. He is getting up into the mid 70s and having a hard time driving this thing with manual steering. I am fixing a leaky rear seal, addressing some running issues, and installing power steering so he can enjoy it a few more years. Originally a plumb crazy car. My mom refused to ride in a purple car so he had it painted blue. 318 3 speed manual, all stock. It will be purple again one day. A few pictures and the tag for cuda hunter.

Hell, I'm 2/3 his age, and I'd hate to drive that w/manual steering.

Does it have PB too?

I would also considering getting a hydraulic clutch and a very mild clutch if it needs replacing anyways.   That 3-speed is fun, but ya wonder if his knee will get tired of clutching.

I dont understandthe 43 spam post Soundcontrol. Yes I added power bakes and front disks about two years ago so it stops good. I have a spare 727 that I considered putting in but I think it would ruin the car. It has a mild clutch so he will have to shift for now. He is not frail just getting old.

'71s needs that cool side stripe.

Just be hard to decide:  black or white?  Hmmm...

I would do black and eventually put on a black top.

Of course, I'd put it back plum and have a black top/side stripe.

I'm jealous of your white top.  Mine was stained from the get go, and is going to be replaced.  I wanted black, but white does a better job of keeping out the heat.  BTW love the blue.  I may have to steal the pic of the car to add to the wall of color combos I'm considering for my car.
Yes I own a 1972 Dodge Challenger Convertible T/A S/E with a 440 Six Pak. Can it get any more wrong?
