Challenger antenna wanted

I'm looking for an antenna and mounting hardware to fit a 74 Challenger. Must be in excellent condition.

Hey Murray, should you become inundated with replies on that antenna, I'd take one, too.

Are they special or something for 74?  I think I have about 10 or 15 NOS antennas from a parts lot purchase a few years back.  Tell me what to look for and I'll look to see if I have what you need.
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

Roseville lists a 72-74 Challenger antenna kit which leads me to believe that it's different than 70-71. Last winter I replaced front bumpers which made the front grille trim look shabby so I replaced it too. The antenna is also a little shabby looking so......you know how it goes. If I can't find a used one that looks awesome I'll just buy a new one. Cody, see if you have something with some good shine if you have the time. The mounting hardware is the worst part of mine. Looks like Ian needs one too.

The rubber section of the antenna that is visible above the bezel can be cleaned up and sprayed with a little SEM Trim Black.(if the rubber isn't cracked) Mine was just dull looking...like old rubber.  A little SEM and it looks new.  A very light bead blast cleaned up the main antenna body.  I bought a new bezel from Dale's Cuda Shop but it didn't fit the contour of the Goodmark fender.  I assumed it was an issue with the fender so I tried my original bezel.  It fit perfectly.  I ended up sending out the original bezel to be rechromed.  It cost me $50 but it looks brand new.  I used the "new" nut that came with the Dales Cuda Shop bezel.  The antenna "mast" is available new from Dales also.

I think 70 and 71 used a telescoping antenna mast didn't they?

As for me, I don't care if it's dead-nuts the same as came on a 74. Seeing as how there's NO antenna now, I'm pretty good with whatever, so Cody, if you think you've got one that'll work, please PM me and we'll talk further on it and thanks for your reply and thinking about the little guy- much appreciated. Ian

All that was in there was NOS 70/71 antennas, no bases.  Sorry man.  :)

From what I recall, is that the telescoping 70-71' were on AM radio's only.

My car had a solid mast and is equipped with the AM/FM radio.

My '71 Challenger (April build) has a solid antenna mast and the plain AM radio.

If that's the case, now I'm curious.

Was there a specific code for either antenna or was it part of a package?

For sure AM/FM radio's were solid. I've never heard of or seen a AM/FM E body with the extended antenna.

I've owned seven Challengers with the R35 AM/FM mpx radio option, six had telescopic antennas, including my R/T S.E. with a 723 SPD (July 23rd 1970) I bought that car in 73 so I'm fairly confident that the antenna was original...

Thanks for the info.

That explains why I can't recall any 71' Cuda's with a telescoping.

My car is a 12/70.
So between 7/70 and 12/70, they were beginning the changeover.
