I'm a new member and I just bought my first E-body, the 71 Barracuda base model in my pic. I live in Santa Cruz CA, and I'm wondering if there is a preferred shop in the San Francisco South Bay area, to have window seals replaced? I would like to have my windshield, rear window resealed, and my trunk lid weatherstripping replaced. I have always been very scared of dealing with sealing issues personally (lot of horror stories), so I am looking for a professional to complete the job.
The rear window leaks, and water is getting on the back seat, and saturating the flooring in the rear foot wells. It is also coming down causing rust along the post-rear window interior and dumping in the trunk, which leaves pools below, and condensation along the underside of the trunk lid. I also believe the trunk lid to be leaking itself, there is rust across the compressed weather-strip. I will be using PUR-15 rust inhibitor to paint across all the rust on the interior sheet metal in the trunk. Last, water is getting into the driver floor pan and pooling in the center of my floor mat. I am not sure whether the windshield leaks, or the cowl-area fresh air intake is clogged and causing water to enter the cabin.
