I got laid off after 9.5 years with the company.     I have 10 years experience in sales and 5 as a manager.   Any suggestions as to quality companies to work for?  I'm in the O.C. California area.

Sorry to hear this. In my experience, quality companies are nearly (but not completely) a thing of the past. I'll keep an ear out.

Been there done that, 18 years with a company and plant closed in USA moved to Latin America (Cafta) Thanks Mr. Pres. Hope it works out for you. It did for me.

several divisions with Cox Auto, something might fit https://jobs.coxautoinc.com/    a search for 'sales' in CA gave me plenty of hits. one of the best companies I've ever worked for, hands down. takes care of their employees. not traded on the stock market. ownership actually gives a crap about their employees, the environment and doing things the right way.

Sorry to hear this, I know how you feel I was with a mold/tool shop for 18 years when the owner one day decided to move it to China. I was one of the last hired most had been there 25-30 years....
If at all possible give starting your own business some thought. I did with zero regrets! Wished I had done it 20 years ago. Sometimes one door closing and another one opening turns out to be a good thing....

Was let go from a shop 4 months ago. Ended up going back to a shop I walked out of 4 years ago after 27 years there.
Advise is to breathe. Get your resume together and hit all the sites. California unemployment system is a POS. Get it going is first priority.
