Wheel for my friends 68 Sport Fury Vert
« on: March 16, 2017 - 09:56:50 PM »
A friend has a very nice 68 Sport Fury, it's equipped with four wheel drum brakes & a few years back he decided it just isn't safe to drive with all the idiots with cars that stop on a dime & drivers who seem to think ducking in front of an old car & then jumping on the brakes is cute.....

Anyway I've been looking & recently found the parts for a disc brake conversion but part of the conversion is the OE 14" road wheels won't clear the brakes..... We looked at 15"s but there are so many 15" repo steel wheels with excessive runout we decided to look at other options.....

So these are US Wheel VN501's they replicate the OE Road Wheel look but with a modern twist....  17x7 all around & 235/55-17 tires which are virtually the same size as the optional 15"tire on this car which was an 8.25-15 (very old tire size designation)

Some will hate the 17's.... To bad the car is big, the wheels need to be bigger than 14"

What a great looking car. The original 14's look a bit ridiculous on those cars.
