I see Acme is FINALLY coming out with the Gurney Trans Am Cuda and the Posey Challenger in 1/18 soon  :bananasmi :cooldancing:

I was looking for the 1971 Javelin in 1/18 to see about making a Mark Donohue TransAm replica and stumbled across this dude and his model of the Posey car. Wow mad skills!  :o :worshippy

It would be exciting to have 1:18 Posey and Gurney die cast models, is there any information online about these being released and when they will be for sale?
I have Hot Wheel and a 1:24 slot car model that is actually pretty well done.
It is interesting seeing someone's build of a Posey model in 1/24 scale.  I built one myself back in the 90s and I see some areas of his build that blow mine away and some things I got right on on mine that he didn't do on his.
I've built the 1:24 Monogram now Revell T/A kit 5 times since it came out in the 80s.  First of my red T/A, then a Posey replica, then a '71 hemi R/T, then a Vanishing Point, then most recently, another of my red T/A how it will look restored.  Now the T/A is restored, so it is a replica of the car as it is now.  And the first I built is a replica of how it was in the 80s, complete with a Die Hard battery and Moroso Blue max ignition wires LOL.
One thing I have always done is correct the front valence, having it part of one piece extending back to the front wheel well sticks out like a sore thumb to me.  On my Posey build and most recent T/A replica, I modified the hood scoop to make it "open".  Looks OK painted flat black when on a T/A replica, but it didn't look right to me on the Posey so I modified it to be open.
Seeing the pictures of his, I am tempted to try to take my engine out and redo it.  I had very little in the way of reference back in the 90s so my engine is not too accurate!  Didn't have the internet to search for pictures and such.  Even trying to replicate the roll bar was a bear, I had mostly black and white pictures in magazines to go with.  My interior could be better but too late now!

Here is where I found the Posey car . I'M Not sure what "Tribute car" means? Just the paint and decals?  https://www.diecastmusclecars.com/comingsoon.htm

I then contacted Acme and they said the Gurney cuda was to be first and out this Feb?

For what they are charging, I hope it is a pretty accurate replica!
Seeing the photos of the Trans Am Javelin build reminds me, back when I was building my Posey T/A, I bought a vintage JoHan Trans Am Donohue Javelin model as it was the only Trans Am racer model on the market and I hoped it had some parts I could pirate for my T/A model.  I don't recall much if anything was of use.  So now I am thinking for a winter project I should think about building it, the Javelins were pretty cool looking cars!

That Challenger is freaking awesome. He has some mad skills there! I picked up some resin minilites a few years back. Hope to create something like this for my Challenger some day.

Here is a predominately scratch built IMCA modified I started on many moons ago.  Never finished skinning it though. Maybe someday when I can't work on the  real cars anymore.

All this is soo coooolll!  I will tell everyone here, I've seen Brad's (convertable ...etc) model that he pictures here on the glass... it is really coolll!!!!  I've gotta collect these cars when avalbl... coulda/shoulda bought the real T/A and AAR race cars when they were for sale via SIAC club newsletter  back in the late 70s/early 80s... price was about $15k each car.

Here is my T/A parked next to the Posey T/A at Carlisle 2005 (along with my friend John Sandberg's race/autocross AAR).

Autocross/road racers go in deeper... and come out harder!

See  MOPAR ACTION MAGAZINE, AUGUST 2006 ISSUE for featured article and details on my autocross T/A.
