Ok, Since I've been looking at rural living options & I have a good friend who lives in a rural location with poor internet access I'm hoping to learn about 4G options... Currently my buddy has Hughesnet... It's expensive & the service sucks... But some days I can use my cell phone as a mobile hotspot & actually stream videos on his computer.... Key word being "some days" I've been looking at antennas which I'm thinking can be mounted on the roof, possibly from the old TV antenna mast though some of my reading suggests mounting it away from steel.... Anyway, I get an antenna, get it mounted, apparently I need to keep the cable length pretty short But what do I need to convert the signal to something I can either broadcast with a wireless router, would a standard cable router do this or? And since I'd like to have internet out in the shop can I use Cat 6 from the cable router out to the shop?
Thanks for your Input....
