K-frame removal
« on: February 04, 2017 - 04:53:45 PM »
I am wanting to removal my k-frame on my cuda.  I was wondering if there is any tips or tricks to
Know before I remove it.  It looks like just remove 4 bolts.  Do I need to mark anything for reinstall.
Can the k-frame be install out of alignment.   Is there as adjustment or extra play in the holes for
The bolts?

Do you have anything else attached to the car, or just the k-member?

The bolts are self centering. There is a taper under the head. That taper aligns the K when you install it.

If the K is stripped of everything else, then it's just the four bolts. If not, the torsion bars need to come out and the upper ball joint needs to be separated from the spindles. If the steering column is still hooked up to the steering box, it will have to be disconnected as well.
