68 Charger with 69 Title

So what is the deal. How could this have happened. I dont have the title in hand but the previous owner did find it and read it to me. So it is real. Could this have been retitled and they made a mistake. Or did Chrysler screw up. Any thoughts would be great.

are you sure the car wasnt stolen and the title and vin taken off some old junker by someone who couldnt tell the diff. between model years?

The VIN comes back as a 68 383 Big Block. Burpin still need to check the block numbers to see if they match. Burpin thinks he will do this tomorrow.

If the VIN on the title matches the VIN on the car.....it's just a typo on the title.....I've seen that plenty of times before. I've seen numbers transposed also, and in PA, there is a form you can fill out to have prior title mistakes fixed with the issue of a new title. Now if you are saying the car has a 68 VIN, but the grille, markers lites, tail lites etc...are 69 type, then someone swapped the parts for some reason, or swapped the VIN plate from a 68car to a 69.

Burpin go the title, It has a 68 vin number and the title says 69. The car has 68 stuff on it. Most likely a typo.
