Build an A518 for 500 hp?
« on: March 03, 2017 - 04:41:56 AM »
Any tips and tricks for this? Any sources of information? Good kits? We used to add clutches and high pinion count planetaries to the 727 back in the day. Anything special you have to do to the A518 to make it survive? Also what upgrades should be done to the overdrive?

I have a lot of the same questions as I've never torn one apart either like the 727.  Do they have sprag/overrunning clutch explosions like the 727s? What parts are interchangeable between the two?  etc. etc.

I just found these guys. They say they can do it for about $2000. Mopar Action has used these trannies.
