Anyone ever bought at insurance auto auctions?
« on: March 10, 2017 - 02:20:55 PM »
This is a random question, but I'm looking at a really good Dodge Ram for a parts truck. It was totaled and has a salvage title, but everything I want seems to be in great shape from online pictures.

Has anyone ever bought from Coparts online auctions and have advice they can give me? I have no experience with this kind of thing and have no insurance buyers license or whatever they're called. The truck is 5 miles away from me, I'm thinking about going and taking a look at it and seeing what it might take to place bids. Thanks.

 Matt

I personally didn't purchase off of that sight, but have bought cars that were. My old boss used to buy them all the time.
My suggestion is if it is that close, go look at it in person. Pictures are very deceiving!

Copart is a reputable salvor and I've dealt with them for quite a few years. They also are in the process of buying many of the big wrecking yards and are a big player in the industry. Since it's so close, for sure go and look at the vehicle. They won't play any games and usually run the vehicles before sale. As always, it's caveat emptor, so do your due diligence. Hope that helps.
