You know, it may be a fuel issue, but if you don't eliminate the starter as an issue, you'll spend more time and money than may actually required. Just my

Had kinda same issue and changed to Shell V-power and also got a mini starter. Starts much better now.
Not sure if the brand of gas makes a difference but the starter does.

Mini starter will spin things over faster with less amp draw. Although it doesn't sound like that is the core issue, it is a nice improvement. Get a rebuilt starter from your local parts house for an early 90s Dodge truck. Maybe about  $60.

Phenolic or wood spacer under the carb  help with  hot fuel bowls. $20-30 depending on source.

Auxiliary electric fuel pump mounted by  the gas tank. You don't need a huge one and can put it inline with your mechanical unit. A pushing pump is more efficient and it will overcome the fuel percolation that occurres at higher engine temps.  This has the added benefit of being able to prime the carb after car sits for a week or more before spinning it over to start. $60-100

Install a cool can between the mechanical pump and the carb. This can be a simple home made unit of a steel can with coiled fuel tube inside it. This aids in dissipating heat in the fuel after going through the lines near the exhaust and the mechanical pump on the block.  Homemade cost, about $10, or you can buy a big polyethelene  pre-fab unit for  $100.

she's #'s matching and appears to have stock intake and carburetor. i really want to keep her as stock as possible she's just a once a week cruiser.

It sits under the carb and won't be noticeable to any but the most  detail oriented inspection. You could paint the edges to match your intake to make it more discrete

Also get one of these and install by the fuel tank.  You can wire into a switched  connection in the fuse block so no additional switches to see. This is under the car where no one will see it unless they crawl around.

Will you be doing your own installation or will you be contracting it out? This is an afternoons worth of work if you are mechanically inclined and have some time turning wrenches on these cars. If you don't, expect  $200-500 for installation.

You stil have not answered the questions so I assume you will be a parts changer , spend unnecessary money and if fixed you will not know what fixed it I asked if cranked slow, chargerdon asked, as I stated there is tremendous knowledge on this site an questions get asked for a reason good luck
