How do I get the glass out?
« on: August 07, 2005 - 07:23:33 AM »
I need to remove the passenger side door glass.

I removed the channel from regulator to glass, and the front and back stops.  Thought it would slide up and out?  What else has to happen, in what order?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

If you have all the retaining hardware loosened, than it should come out....it does take a LOT of wiggling to get it out though. Also, double check you have everything unscrewed because some of the stuff can only be reached if the glass is at a certain point.

Hey Katfish,  if memory serves me correctly, there are holes in the glass in the bottom edge to get an allen wrench through to undo the slide supports, you need to have the window up and insert the allen wrench through the hole in the door towards the top, once those are out you can get the angle to pull the glass out. Hope that helps, it's hard to remember every step but that should do it.
I don't know if these pictures will help but I've attached them anyway, Good Luck!

Thanks guys,

The allen bolt at top was the trick.  Once this was removed (and other 1 at bottom), I was able to remove the front track from glass.  Didn't need to completely remove glass.  Original goal was to remove the window regulator and replace with an A1 electric unit.
