    I have seen some Proform and Pertronix distributors for sale.    The Mopar units run higher, but there is an auction where someone has the Mopar orange box with a Proform distributor.    This does seem like rather old technology and should be rather simple technology by todays standards......  Opinons anyone.........I know where a Proform electronic distributor with Mopar orange box is available for $100.  All brand new with hold down and wiring incl......still in the box........

    Don't waste your time and money. Just go with MSD. Look around at any drag strip and that's all you'll see under the hood. The stuff is tried and proven.

    MSD is the best

    Mopar is the next best, go with a recurved distributor and a chrome box and skip the orange box

    Mallory & Crane make ign boxes with built in rev limiter that are just a good as MSD for 1/3 of the cost

    boxes yes.  Crane has some nice stuff. Never tried mallory.
    Distributors no.  MSD is the top dog there.

    Go with MSD from the start.. I tried to save $100 once by buying a cheaper brand distributor for my 351 Cleveland that ended up costing me $250 more because of all the problems I had with it.  :mad:

    Box is your choice. I've had 2 MSD 6ALs die in 6 1/2 years but atleast they are easily repaired, I don't know if these new digital systems could be?

    Thanks for your replies........this was for a restoration application.........not often to be turned at high rpms......
