Gen 2 Hemi?
« on: March 27, 2017 - 01:56:06 PM »
Hi guy's, been researching the gen2 hemi's for my 70 challenger and need some advice /opinions on witch way to go. I currently have a 440+6 pac, tremec tko 600 5spd and dana 60 with 3.73 gear. The car is just a street/cruising car and I'd like to put an old school hemi in it for the visual wow factor. The only two conditions I have are #1 aluminum heads and #2 a hydraulic cam. From what I've found is stay away from Indy Cyl. Head. I live about 1 1/2hr drive time from Ray Barton. But checking his web site all his hemi's run solid lift cam's and I've heard/read some horror story's about his engines also. I have a budget of $20/22K for this upgrade IE. hemi engine, new motor mounts, TTI headers, march pulley setup, MSD pro billet dist. ect ect. Still just researching as of now and have not made any phone calls for any kind of prices. So fire away!  :2thumbs:

I have been running Indy 426-R1 aluminum heads on my engine since 2003 with zero issues.  These heads are running the Indy roller rockers. I have heard all these folks talk down about Indy, but I have never had an issue with the product or customer service. Whenever I have called needing something, they have taken care of it for me.  :2cents:
