I been always always wanting a old school car, since a kid at 13-14 years old. I'm 35 years old now and for the last 10 years my wife would give me hell when attempting to purchase my old school. 1st I wanted a 72 Cutlass, then started really looking into old school cars and realized I want a muscle car. I fell in love with the 68 Camaro but then realized realistically for a clean one I will be spending minimum $20,000. Then I wanted a 68-69 Nova SS but it was so hard to find and also probably out of my budget. Then I finally did my research and made my decision on a 65 Mustang. Found a 65 Mustang very clean for a good price towards Sacramento, CA. On a saturday the seller and myself agreed I will pick it up monday morning. I call sunday afternoon just to confirm everything, and he doesn't pick up his call. So I had my cousin call from another # and sure enough first thing he told my cousin was he sold the 65 Mustang sunday morning. I want devasted and not to mention heart broken and beyond upset and hurt. Finally, I realized it wasn't meant to be.
So I though to myself I been wanting my old school muscle car for YEARS and its been nothing but an extreme Challenge. Then i thought, I'm going to get a 1970 Challenger, since its been so challenging. Regardless(not really) how much it cost. So at my aunts funeral this last saturday my cousin who is in this car club Timeless had some of his buddies come out with their old schools. 65 fastback Mustang fully restored and a 68 Camaro fully restored. Talking to the guys I told them I wanted a 70 Challenger. He said you can find one for 16k, doubting him I laughed and said I don't think so. He said you just gotta look and check out everything. First place he mentioned I checked! Believe it or not, there was a 1970 with a 360 engine pretty clean inside out, clean title etc for $16,000. Called the guy and he was super cool said he still had the 1970 Challenger and we been talking as if we knew each other and we both agreed on a price of $14,500. Tomorrow since its out of state I will have a inspector check it out. If all goes well which is should, I will be getting it the day after.
For me this is definitely a killer story! I been wanting a muscle for years and years! Finally found one, great condition, awesome seller and for a even more awesome price!! I can't wait till it arrives. Beyond ecstatic at this point!!
