1970 Challenger door lock retaining clip is round not flat?
« on: March 26, 2017 - 11:01:40 AM »
hello. i have a 1970 Hemi Challenger and trying to get new door handles installed with new lock sets, struggling to get the locks to work. most online stores provide new lock sets but with a flat metal retaining clip where my lock set and handle requires a round plastic retaining clip that screws down with two small screws. I have tried to convince Classic Industries they are providing the incorrect flat clip and not the round one for 70 Challengers, I had to buy a used round plastic lock retaining clip on ebay. anyone know what I'm doing wrong or is my 70 challenger door handle from online retailers the wrong ones?

The 70 Challenger key lock cylinders are held in with a C shaped metal retainer and 2 screws it should not be plastic. Very early built 70's had a wire retainer with 2 loops for the screws. I have some of both styles here. PM or e-mail me if interested
