So decided that pro-touring is in my future. That said I am looking at stuffing a 335 under the back end of the car. 70 ebody. The outter wheel wells have about had it. I have replacements in the garage ready to go. The inner sections are good enough to save. I have been searching the forums for wheel well specs and what it takes to fit a 305 - 335 tire.
http://www.cuda-challenger.com/cc/index.php?topic=99924.msg984428#msg984428 This discusses the fact that a 335 was put in the green Cuda. Looks greatly!! But how in the world did they get it in there? 335 is about 13.2 inches wide and I barely see 13.5 inches with the lip rolled.
So both sets of wells are coming out and this is an opportunity to stretch out the frame rails. Save the resale value drama, don't want to hear it... :horse:if I butt up against the frame rail it gives me an extra 1 1/2 inches. That adds up to fitting 14 inches without any concern of rubbing and ride height issues.
Leafs are coming out and converting to triangulated 4 link w coil overs. Art Morrison has a setup that performs very well. Looked at the 3 link too but not sure if I like running a watts link or panhard bar..
So this has been some of my thoughts. Interested in hearing from the guys running some real rubber under the back of the cars. What was done to get the tires to fit, tire size, rim size, etc. pics or forum links to good reference materials that I may have missed would be great!
