convertible question, which one?
« on: May 01, 2017 - 06:27:00 AM »
first, sorry for my English, trying to do my best.

have owned my 70`Charger for three years now and i only take it out on sunny days.. here in norway it means 2 weeks a year!
so im planning to sell it and buy a e-body convertible, i know of two cars i can buy,
the first one is a 71 cuda clone, L-code Automatic, tor-red/white interior, shaker, 440 with stage V hemi heads. restored long time ago, but looks fine. ca 65000$
the other one, 71 barracuda, N-code, Automatic, tor-red/Orange interior, shaker, 383 with alu heads, Complete restored 10 years ago, looks Perfect, 75000$

whats the best buy you think?

Where are you located? If those prices are in Canadian funds they both sound like decent deals. They both sound nice I'd probably step up and and get the perfect N code one.

i would choose the one that it is nicest condition. If both are equally nice, I'd choose the Cuda clone. Either way, both are fantastic choices at good prices.

Unless the "L" code is extremely nice, an "N" code trumps the "L" code any day of the week.  :2cents:

If the N code Barracuda is matching numbers, then I'd go with that car instead. Especially if it's a little nicer.

Wonder how the orange interior looks with red paint. Sounds kinda odd but I guess it's better than white. I know everyone loves the white interiors but I can't stand them personally.

The N code car will prob be worth more in the long run, but whichever one you like better and is in the best shape should be your biggist concern. Both prices seem a little on the high side, so they need to be really nice at these prices. Good luck

I was thinking $75k was pretty good for a numbers matching N code 71 Barracuda convertible in near perfect condition.

Thanks for the photo Judy. For some reason I always thought Tor red was actually red. It looks great in orange in and out!
