shifter mechanism
« on: February 17, 2004 - 08:53:12 PM »
Hi guys, my question for today is, are the B body pistol grip shifter mechanisms the same as the E-Bodies? I know that they mount further towards the front of the trans on the Bs but are the shift levers in the same location, and just use different rods than the E-Bodies? If they're not the same then under what part number and where can i get one? Thanks

yes & no , They mechaism will interchange & work but the B bodies with the long pistol have longer levers in the shifter mechanism & shorter levers on the tranny to shorten the throw as much as possible
The shifter can be bought new from Hurst as a Hurst Competition +

I have a Cuda project with no shifter, shifter mounting plate, levers or rods.  If I buy the Hurst Competition Shifter, what levers should I buy? (E body or b body)?

Thanks,

I would use the double hole E body ones & use the hole nearest the pivot hole to shorten the shift
