I was at Carlisle today and  saw the tent. But I didn't come in, I didn't want to intrude. I didn't know anybody. I look at the posts on here and learn stuff, but do not post much myself.  Randy

Just got back from Carlisle.......good trip overall.   Battery in the barracuda decided to take a dump the morning we were leaving so that put us an hour behind.....but no issues in any of the 3 vehicles on the way up or back.

Good trip......kiddo got another set of steel cop rims for winter use...two freshly blasted and painted fro $80, two others that were painted and just have scratches etc for $70.....

The first day we had passed on a set of cop rims that were badly rusted etc for $80.....I offered $75 and the guy held firm so I passed....I figured there was another $50 or so in paint and lots of work there......Tyler was ticked at me I think......Luckily the next day we found the first set...annd then literally right around the corner we found the second set!  No work needed , can run them as is if he wants.    I think that was the better deal!

We also picked up an entire 80 Volare front grill/headlights/end caps for $40......the headlight buckets look rotted but the rest isnt bad.  The rubber flap is better than his -- no pitting.....and the chrome on the grill is fair.....its abackup in case he ever has a front end boo boo.....till then it will make a nice wall decoration in his room I guess....LOL

Picked up a few odds and ends like clips etc....but nothing else great.....

Ya know, to be honest, Carlisle isnt the same magical place that it was to me when I first went there some years back.....seems like most people want waaaaaaaaay too much for their old rusty, worn , dirty stuff, and the vendors selling new stuff aren't offering many "event specials" like they used to.....I can buy the same stuff from them online......I guess you save a little shipping.  Some were charging state sales tax...

All I know is I got NOTHING for me and the barracuda......although I did get a couple nice cuda prints for the wall.  There was a wild blown 500+ CI hemi (the purple one) on sale for $13k....and the wife said no.    Then we saw that 44 on a engine stand, with 727 trans, ran and sounded great ....$2700 including the stand.....wife said no....    :banghead:  Then later I found out it was sold to a guy that has a business...it was going to be in an exhibit....never to be run in a car again.

What a waste of a nice running motor IMHO.   :stomp:

Then I found a intake/blower/2 4 bbl setup for a small block...$2900.....wife said no.   :bricks1:

LOL -- actually its more me......too stingy I guess.   :money:

I almost thought about a set of new edelbrock small block  heads a kid was selling.......but $1300!?!?!?   Thats the price that Summit wants for them.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.   Bummed out. I wanted to find a gold mine of cheap awesome parts......LOL....

I walked by the club tent once or twice and no one around....once again we were roaming the parts ailes or checking out the car corale, and the 4 door cuda display.......lots of walking......I saw that TWO clubs were using it this time and found some ebodies.org paraphernalia in my car when I was leaving one day....So TWO clubs had to share the tent?  Or did I miss some merger?  LOL

Didnt place or anything, nor did the kiddo in the F body class.

The guy next to me won first place....every time we were at our car/tent sitting and trying to relax, we kept hearing him yell.. "This is my car! It has a HEMI! Vote for me!"

My GOD was that annoying.

It was a 73 powder blue car, white interior, white roof,  stock redone car -- nice enough......and he had a guy drop a new modern Hemi in it.....From what he told me he didnt do any of the work himself.  He talked about how he never drives it in the rain and he trailered it from virginia so it would get dirty.

It really tweaked me to keep hearing him yell  _ Hey! This is my car! It has a hemi in it! VOTE FOR ME!".....so after about the 50th time, I answered his yell with my own yell -- "Hey! Vote for me!  I built mine and drove mine here!!"  That got a chuckle but I think he got the point cause I didnt hear him yell again for a while.  Yeah -- childish I know.   But he just rubbed me the wrong way from the get go.  Then, he didnt even bother staying for the parade....I guess he didnt want to drive it in the parade.....he loaded it up on the trailer and left with his plaque. First place folks should stay ---its FIRST PLACE.

And when did they change the policy of "no trailer unloading onto the show field on saturday" ? Some dude with a white hemi e body behind us had a HUGE trailer and tied up the ebodies road for a while while he unloaded...at like 10 am on saturday...some of the cars cut thru our section, dangerously close to cars because they were stuck behind him.  Again, someoine who didnt want to drive from an offsite unloading place. Wont even drive it for that?

WHATS THE POINT OF HAVING THESE CARS IF THEY ARE JUST TRAILER QUEENS!   :pullinghair: :pullinghair: :pullinghair: :pullinghair: :pullinghair:

Ok, childish rant over.  LOL

Shadango .  .  I can't believe our paths didn't cross at the show?  We had an amazing dinner meet on Friday and huge pizza party in the typical parking lot on Saturday . . . Would of liked to have hooked up!

I agree with Shadango about vendors not doing " event special" pricing,  I was looking for a rear seat cover and found that Dante's had better price that Legendary for the same item, and he sells Legendary, then check the websites and seen no difference in the cost, and I would still have to pay shipping. Went to the REM tent, they were more, but from what I've heard the quality is not as good.  Did get some good show pricing from Josh's and they were friendly, talkative and more than happy to generate business.

I saw that and it only needed a new front end, two doors and 1/4's and a deck lid not to mention req'd frame work as well. He probably needed the 10k for more crack, wouldn't you say?  :screwy:

LOL. Yep.

And there was that Superbird/Daytona......more like a heap of metal.

How could anyone figure that is rebuildable?

I think the seller said it still had the VIN so I guess that makes it rebuildable.....

I saw it passing me on a trailer on the way home, parts flapping in the wind.....and no kidding,  we also saw a state trooper pull it over....LOL...maybe the cop was just interested in buying.... :smilielol:
