383-440 TTI Shorties and Alternator w/VR and wiring
« on: May 29, 2017 - 11:05:36 AM »
Hello everyone,
Well, Some know I wiped my camshaft which sent metal everywhere.  So I decided it's time to upgrade to a 522 from my current 440.  So this gives me a chance to swap some other parts.  So, my 65amp alternator probably isn't enough for my 1400w stereo and the new electric fan setup so I'm selling it with the external voltage regulator and the wiring for it (including lead to the idle control solenoid.  All is basically new as the car has a little over 700 miles on it since original rebuild. Selling the complete setup for $100 shipped to the lower 48.  Pics below.

Also putting up for sale my TTi shorty headers and mid pipes.  Again, I'm upgrading with the extra cubes to long tubes IF I can sell these.  If they don't sell before the new short block arrives, then I'll just use them.  Cost me over $800 last fall.  Selling for $440 shipped to the lower 48.  Also includes hardware and new collector gaskets (doesn't include exhaust flange gaskets though).  These are the unpolished ceramic coated with thermal barrier version.  The midpipes are required for installation and will be provided.  They are currently welded to my exhaust system but will cut them out and provide.  Also included is a welded in O2 bung (will provide plug if you don't want to use an O2 sensor).  Again pictures below.  The oil on the headers is fresh and should clean right off.  This is from running the car with the valve covers off temporarily trying to determine what was going on with the valve train.  You'll have to excuse my welding on from the midpipe to my exhaust.  I did it with it installed in the car and it kind of became the more weld wire the better quest...  But they don't leak!  :)  Here is a link to the tti webpage for them.  http://www.ttiexhaust.com/MoparClassics-Headers/44025-Shorty/TTi44025.htm.  Please note that a mini starter is required and read the additional notes from tti on the webpage.

To prevent any question, the first person to reply to this post saying they want either of these gets dibs for 5 days.  I accept paypal.  You can message me as well, but the line forms from replies to this topic.  Thanks.

Derrick

Hi Tazinhawaii,

By chance are you interested in sellling your fast idle solenoid from your 440?  If so is it a six pak?

Also, what is the date code on front and back of your alternator?

Thx,

John

Hi Tazinhawaii, if the solenoid is not off a six pak, I would be interested. That is if you are not going to need it. Maybe even the carburetor. Depending what it is. Thanks, Mark

Hi,
The date code of the alternator is from 1985.  It's not an original, it's something the previous owner got from an autoparts place I assume.  The idle solenoid is for a six pack setup and I haven't decided to sell it yet...  I'm going to see if I can devise a way for it to work with the new 1 wire alternator.  If not I may sell it in the near future.

Thanks,
Derrick

The TTI link dosent work. Do you know if the shorties will work with power steering and fast ratio arms?

Interesting. I don't know why the link doesn't work, but it doesn't for me either.  You can go to ttiexhaust.com directly and find them that way.  They do work with power steering (I have PS).  They should work with the fast ratio arms as they would be shorter that the stock arms which would move the tie rods and cross bar even further out of the way.  But I don't know for sure as the website doesn't mention fast ratio arms and I don't have them..  I've cut and pasted the info from the website below, but it's not all pretty like the website.

To answer some questions on fitment, here are a couple pictures I took when I pulled the motor/trans/k-member from the car last time.  It kind of shows where the fitment of the headers are, although the pics weren't specifically taken to show the fitment.  Hope this helps.
