Just finished watching Mecum on my dvr and I watched it sold for $72K.  It is not on their results page though.  That was a nice collection that sold.

I was there, the entire Kingston collection was owned by Dana Mecum.
That car was rough, paint was not very good imo. That one "sold" along with the blue challenger T/A, then they vanished from the entire collection list. The other 19 are still listed on the Mecum site , and I believe they are actually sold. I was shocked at what the Superbird did, no matching #s and not in the best shape.

Collection owned by Mecum, then they disappear?  Somethings up.  They bid it up themselves to keep them?

You can come to your own decision on that, they were all no reserve, and the guy who owns the auction is running them. Im sure he had bidders bumping them . Maybe those 2 never got real money on them after the bump??? There is no risk of him having to pay the 8% buyer and 10% seller fee if its his auction...

The bidder with the phone on the lower left was the winning bidder.  Maybe he was talking to Dana?  Winning bid is confirmed $72K or is it a fake bid?

I was very disappointed with the 71 Cuda & most of the other Kingston collection.
The Superbird needed corrections & much detailing to make it a 200k car.
I flew 4 hours to see these cars & quickly realized it was a waste of money & time.

Out of curiosity, did you see other cars that were nice and also priced right? I ask because I think it would be fun to go to one of these auctions someday but if all the cars are terribly overpriced, I wouldn't waste my time.

Hi, I Did go to the Mecum auction in Dallas I was very disappointed in the condition of the kingston collection. They looked great in the pics. but seeing them in person I would rate them as a 20 footers, good driver. just my 2 cents.
