Steering wheel experts question
« on: October 06, 2017 - 03:39:18 PM »
Will a 1971 Plymouth Barracuda steering wheel fit on a 1967 Dodge Dart GT?

And if not what if any modifications would  have to be made if even worth going through the trouble?

No expert but I would say it might work as long as you use the crush can that goes between the steering wheel and the column. The splined shaft may be the same diameter which would allow the crush can to fit.

The problem you may run into is that the diameter of the can may be larger than the column which would look really weird. Also, the spacing of how far down the crush can sits onto the column shaft may also be off meaning it sits too high creating an unsightly gap or worse, too far down which makes it rub the column. On top of all this, if it fits, the steering wheel will probably not rest in the same location as the original which could make it feel awkward when you drive it.

That's my two cents but if you already have it, why not try it and see if it works.
