Thank you for that info although from a limited search I gather that these specific 1970 manifolds will be difficult to find and/or afford.

That being said, is there a general rule of thumb regarding the purchase of other 340 Exhaust Manifolds that would properly fit a 340 in a 70 Challenger?

I a not sure what you mean by "general rule of thumb", but I would say that they have to fit the engine and car. Other than that it comes down to authenticity. Are you going for a real restoration or just want to make it look stock?

The part numbers I gave you fit E and A bodies (Dart Duster) of the same year (1970).

There are other manifolds what would fit/work but probably won't be correct from a PN prospective.

Here is what I have been to put together.
Current Mopar
70 Challenger RT 440-6 EFI, 73 Cuda 416-6 EFI
05 Hemi Durango, 01 Ram 4x4, 14 Ram 2500 4X4, 10 PCP Challenger 6 spd RT, 01 Viper GTS ACR, 52 B3B w/330 Desoto Hemi, 70 Hemi RR (under const)

Helpful, YES although none of these manifolds is currently listed on eBay so I'm guessing it is going to become a long search unless there are other part numbers that will fit this application (70 Challenger 340).

Thank you......

Call Wildcat Salvage, they are in OR and specialize in Mopars. Get in contact with your local mopar club and place an ad or subscribe to Mopar Collectors Guide and post an ad there.

I got to think that someone on here as some SB Mopar manifolds laying around. I think I have some 360 ones but they are 1978 vintage and I have no idea what it came out of.

$50 cheaper on eBay. I’ve had my eye on them for a while. You will never find an original set for less. Heavily pitted ones sell for $700

I've bought two sets of originals in the last five years, nice clean California parts....  paid $350 for one set & $400 for the other... You look on Ebay & C/L & all you'll find is high prices... Swap meets, preferably Ford & Chevy swap meets are where you find bargain priced Mopar parts....

You’re right about that! Every now and then I find a deal on those sites but you have to check often and not delay.

Here is what I don't get......... there are LOTS of 340 Exhaust Manifolds on eBay and elsewhere that LOOK correct in shape, but none of them have any of the part numbers listed by 70chall440, yet YearOne has a reproduction set that fits 70 Challengers with a 340 and who knows what else.  I don't care about the part numbers being correct, so is it possible for a RAMDOM set of 340 exhaust manifolds (from 1970, 71, 72, 73, 74) that LOOK like they have the correct curves will fit my 70 Challenger or am I dreaming and just need to YearOne?

Note:  YearOne Reproduction Exhaust Manifolds for a 1970 Challenger 340 are listed as Part Number Left: 2863553 and Right: 2863549.
