Any suggestions on how to get the filler tube out without destroying anything? :banghead:

Channel locks and a rubber mallet did the job.

Is the tank already out with the tube still attached?? If so, have someone get a firm hold on the tank, then work the tube straight out while constantly twisting on it. If you try to pull it straight out, you might deform the tank where the tube goes in.
So the placement is correct on the reinstall, measure how far the tube comes out of the tank and transfer that measurement to the new tube via a small scribe mark if that is the case. It will be just as tough on the tube reinstall even though the new rubber collar won't have 30 years of shrinkage on it. Again have someone get a firm hold to the tank and use much twisting as you work it in. I used some vaseline to help it return to the original  location
