Calling all 340 6 pack/barrel guys
« on: April 11, 2018 - 12:00:08 AM »
Iv'e got a question; I have been working on Mopars for a very long time and every SB I have dealt with had a 3/8 NPT heater hose nipple/fitting on the intake. I was just looking at my stoked 340 with an EFI 6 pack/barrel on it and noticed that the heater hose nipple hole is 1/4 NPT. thinking I was imaging things, I went and looked at another SB intake and removed the nipple and sure enough it was/is 3/8 NPT.

So the question is this, are all 340 6 pack/barrel intakes drilled and tapped 1/4 NPT or is this a mistake or are the new produced Edelbrock SB 6 pack intakes done this way?

Id appreciate any input or thoughts. I have a 1/4 NPT x 3/8 barb fitting which I will use, or if I get real froggy I could drill it and retap it but I really would rather not do that.

In case anyone cares, the SB 6 pack uses a 1/4 NPT heater hose fitting.
