One Credit Car Down; One to Go
« on: July 15, 2005 - 09:39:56 PM »
Well guys as you know my story my ex fiance cheated on me and then things got real bad including leaving me in debt. I always told myself it could be worse and now I'm really close to having one credit card paid off. Per granted I'm broke but, I paid it off. Now, I just have to pay this one card off which I have $2100 on and then onto the vehicles. For the vehicles though I will try to pick up a part time job at the grocery in addition to my military pay and try to get out of as much debt as possible. Thank you.

Things sound a little tough Steven but hang in there bud, your getting there and keeping the head up at the same time.
I respect that.

Thanks folks for all the kind words. I'm just glad this one card should be paid off in the next few days as I sent in the payment yesterday. Now I'm going to cancel that account and keep the one card I got through USAA.  The Dakota should be paid for soon since that's the cheaper one and then focus on the negative equity my car will have providing I can get a loan. Then I will just continue to pay what I pay on the Challenger since I got it fairly cheap and bank money when possible.

If you cancel the card it will efffect your credit score in a negative way. Just cut it up or put it away and don't use it.

If you still have one credit card your trying to get rid of, maybe transfer it to one of those card companys that gives you zero percent interest until like August of 2006 or something, then they usually give you a higher set interest rate after that. You just either make sure it's payed off by then or transfer it to another zero percent interest card before the first one switches over. I get those things in the mail all the time. Just make sure you read the fine print, so they don't sneak something by you.

Thanks again everyone for the advice. As for the credit card I'm wanting to rid of it simply because of the interest rate and even when I didn't use it they charged me a fee just for having it anyways.
