Someone using 518 with K058 vacuumswitch?
« on: January 17, 2019 - 06:41:30 AM »
Well, subject is Someone using 518 with K058 vacuumswitch?

I need to figure out how to inactive them when lower the speed (should not be confused with kickdown where engine vacuum drops and switch inactivates the OD and Lockup automatically).

Any ideas?

I believe the OD will drop automatically when slowing due to hydraulic pressure dropping as the car slows down. I did this swap and went to using basically a throttle position switch that opens between 1/2 to 2/3 throttle. I don't have anything that opens the circuit at any other time and works fine.

Is the KO58 the variable vacuum switch used to drop OD and LU for kickdown?  I just kept turning down the vacuum until it shifted good.  Like Rocky said, as your speed slows, so does the pressure in the trans and when you get below the switch pressure, the circuit is broken and you drop out of OD and LU.

If your having trouble with KD, check out the PACT write up for specifics.  https://transmissioncenter.net/shop/727-to-518-transmission-swap-information/
