Driver quality 74 barracuda
« on: February 08, 2019 - 08:56:35 PM »
So i had a 73 challenger for a couple years, but a 23 y/o girl saw it at a car show this fall and was kind of interested in buying it. I wasn't thinking of selling it but she called a couple months later, came with cash and took it home.  I had always wanted a cuda but since they were out of my price range, i decided to sell another car, save my money and wait to find something in the $15k dollar range that wasn't a basketcase.  2 days after selling the challenger , this 74 barracuda popped up on craigslist. I called the guy, booked a ticket, flew out and made a deal.  A month later it finally made it to my shop with a shipping company.

It started as a 318 car but currently has a 340.  All orginal sheet metal and no rust.  It started life as a golden fawn color according to the build sheet.  I will do a few things to it, but otherwise just enjoy driving the hell out of it. If anyone can decode the build sheet or sees anything interesting on it, let me know. Otherwise i'm pretty sure it is just a plain jane barracuda, that i'm super excited to have gotten in my price range.

Sweet looking ride!

Originaly v5x.   I wonder why some cars got the short v5x and other got the long v5x.
Pretty cool that they are still on the car after a repaint. Most people take them off.

The white and black interior is not very common in the later years.     Cool car!

First picture appears to show a sunroof in the white vinyl top?

I missed that.  Those are only supposed to be on 72's.
Should be on the build sheet.

Someone put an aftermarket one in back in the 80's.I'm not thrilled about that but it is what it is.
