1970 non a/c Blower motor
« on: May 22, 2019 - 06:15:46 PM »
I'm restoring the dash of my 1970 Non A/C Barracuda. The heater box has been out of the car for ten years unfortunately and somehow the blower motor rusted up and is unrepairable. I'm struggling to find a resource for a new one. any help would be appreciated!

Have you tried your local auto parts store or Rock Auto? Not saying they will have it but I have been surprised a few times, got a 3 speed wiper motor for my 70 challenger at O'reillys once.

Thanks 70chall440,
Not being a purist, the locals where my first reaction. I'm close to Summit so generally my go to, but no luck there. Looking into some possible cross over, I found that 68-70 B-body is very similar but has a vent hole. E-body did not. Probably the reason it rusted in the first place. For 35 bucks its worth the shot. I'm really surprised no one has come across this problem before.

Oh plenty have but they just replace them. Where they get them is the question. That motor was used in a variety of things to include B bodies. I had a 76 D600 that I think had the same motor. Problem is, you don't know what vehicles to look at and its a gamble if you find something that looks the part as to whether or not it will work correctly in your car.

Let us know if the one you found works out.
