Transmission Braces
« on: September 05, 2019 - 01:03:01 PM »
I went to have my 727 rebuilt. The shop told me that there were some brackets/braces that go between the engine and trans. Are these brackets necessary?  If so, where exactly do they go? The engine and trans are a 1974, the engine is a 360. The engine and trans were not original to the car (1970 Barracuda). The trans has a floor shifter.  Thanks

From the factory there were braces, they an from the bell housing to the engine, where they bolted to exactly somewhat depends on the year and motor. I cannot say exactly what is correct for your car but no, they are not necessary and usually gone as soon as headers are installed.

Thanks. The guy at the trans shop said he didn't think they were needed but wanted to inform me the brackets were missing.
